If you use a coarse fibre it will be easier to felt, but harder to get a smooth finish--and don't forget to use a smaller needle for precision work and to go through all the way with your needle, and felt, felt, felt..............your patience will pay off in the end....

Thanks Tickled Pink. I use mainly norwegian C1 for needlefelting and a 36 gauge needle. perhaps I'm too impatient to felt it for long enough.

Hi Angela,

For dry needle-felting it depends on several factors like the kind of wool fiber you use and the quality of your needle work. For a tighter look make sure you needle-felt enough, also make sure you are using the right needle size otherwise, you will have a bumpy finish and large holes. In addition, you should make sure you have a good sharp needle of the appropriate size for the effect you are looking for.

I don't know how familiar you are with dry needle-felting so, if you need more details just let me know. I hope this helps.

Okay - here's hoping you can help. Other people's needlefelt often looks very smooth with no little ends of fibres sticking out. Are you just good at photography or brill at needlefelting? How do you get all those little bits in?

Hi Angela!

Welcome. I do mostly dry felting, but plan on trying wet. I look forward to learning from you in the future.

Hi, I do more wet than dry felting but like to needlefelt when I can. I have an RSI which prevents me doing too much but I'd like to learn more
