Why Digital Scrapbbooking?

I know in today's economy, money is tight. And often the first thing cut is funds for our hobbies.
'The wonderful thing about Digital Scrapbooking is the cost is minimal! Most everyone has a digital camera, right? And the web is full of sites offering FREE papers, frames, elements and basically everything you need to make beautiful pages that cost nothing but your time!

Here is an example of a 2-page layout using items I found on the web:

As you can see, they look exactly like scrapbook pages made the conventional way, with out the cost of supplies. No more running out of your favorite ribbon or paper only to find out it is no longer in stock. No more having to hide reciepts from your favorite craft store from your spouse!

When you have completed pages there are many options for having them printed : single pages or a complete book can be printed at once.

So join our group, share your creative ideas and swap "papers" & "elements"!

But most of all... HAVE FUN!!!

Why Colorize Is Our Friend! 1 Reply

Look at the above 2 pictures, NOTHING in them is the color it originally was when I "collected" it. When I find items for my digital designs, I look at the shape and style usually ignoring the col…

Hi everyone!

My mom and I are delving into the digital scrapbooking arena. I'm a graphic/web designer by day, and my mom is a crafty person too! We thought why not pool together our ideas and offer on/offline scrapbooking graphics to the community. Check out our Etsy shop, and we are happy to offer Buy 1, Get 1 (of equal or lesser price) to all of our MCC friends. Just mention MCC in the notes, and we will refund the price of the second item for you.

Oh, and BTW I love the layouts above. Really well done!

Hi, I have just joined the group. I design craft sheets for card makers, although many of my designs can be used by scrapbookers. I also design digital embellishments, for other designers and for scrapbookers. They are all in png format, 300 dpi, so would be ideal. You can check them out on the following link. http://www.craftsuprint.com/default.cfm?cat=55&designerid=168&r=343481

Hey everyone, I just started a new series on my blog called Sunday Scrapbooking Club. Every week I will be giving tips and tricks for digital scrapbooking along with free digital downloads. (usually items I used in examples or finished "quick pages") Hope you all can stop by and visit on Sundays (or any days, Mondays are "Make It Mondays" with videos of actual crafts being made." Be sure and leave a quick note to let me know you dropped in. Today's Club Meeting is about Using Greyscale Images.

stanza_rae, Right off the bat... hahaha.

I'd prefer to use Photoshop for my designs. I was using a program that's supposed to streamline card design, but it is limited. Good points about the sewing! I'll have to think more as if I'm working with the real elements. You've already made my time here worth it!

Thanks so much.

Welcome LDphotography... how are you?

Are you an expierenced digital scrapbooker or just starting out?
Do you have digital papers and elements?
If you need any of these things let me know, I can upload to an album. Just let me know.

I can also give you advice tips etc.

paperbatty, very nice job. the only suggestions I see right off the bat, is to remember " drop shadow is our friend"! when adding elements to digital scrapbooking, adding even a pixel or two (and being uniform thru the work) to all elements adds depth and makes it look like actually scrapbooking.

Also pay attention to your layers. I saw at least one place where you should have rearranged the layers, unless you meant to sew the passenger list to the background? :)

I will see what I can do about uploading some papers and elements asap.

Keep on ... you are doing great and it is very addicting.

P.S. I am not familiar with the program you are using so my terms may not be the same as your program calls them, if not, let me know and I will define them.
