My Craft Corner

What would be your top 3 things you would want from a site where you would sell your crafts and handmade items? I am asking because I was frustrated with several of the sites each had limitations. I did not have the skills to design my own webpage or sales site.

So, what would we want on the perfect site?

1. The ability to host and post ads like Adsense

2.  The ability to fully design my own site or have a variety of templates to use

3.  Allowing me to post links to other crafter sites

Please, let me know what you would want in a crafting sales site?

thanks for your time
Linda

Both my blog and my website allow for the 3 items you list - which would certainly be on my list.

I like WordPress for blogs. I use Atahualpa 3.2 by BFA WebDesign for my theme template. It allows quite a bit of personalization. My site is dlcreations-al.com/blog - the header is my own

I like Yahoo's SiteBuilder where what you see is what you get, for the ease of designing your own site. However, my yahoo hosted site is messed up at present because it is not compatible with Windows 7. They do have a simpler web design program (free with their hosting) but I have not tried it.
I believe most of the web hosting places provide some type of free design tool. There are other design programs, including free ones, available, but since you have to have a host anyway, why not check out the program they provide.

I am presently using another site building tool. But am reluctant to promote it as yet, since I would get a commission and I have not yet completed my own site with them. :-)

thanks for your response. If you found a site that offered all of those things would you be more likely to sell form that site?
thanks
